Health & Human Services Day
Leadership's November Health and Human Services Day was everything the class had hoped for. They had an opportunity to meet and hear from the President of Dignity Health Dominican Hospital, Dr. Nanette Mickiewicz and Dr. Larry deGhetaldi, President of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. This was followed by a tour of the Dominican campus including Intensive Care Services, Acute Rehab, and Emergency Cardiac Services.
One of the most impressive parts of the day is when the Life Flight helicopter arrived from Stanford and the class had the opportunity to talk with the flight crew. The day ended with field trips to health facilities including CASA, Monarch Services, Second Harvest Food Bank, the Central California Health Alliance, and Community Bridges. During each of the field trips members of the class who were afilliated with these organizations explained how they fit into the health and human services delivery system. All-in-all it was a phenomenal learning experience.
