Arts & Culture Day

Class 31's Arts and Culture day began with presentations by Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History Director, Nina Simon; Santa Cruz Sentinel Entertainment Editor, Wallace Baine, and Michelle Williams, Arts Council Executive Director. The class learned about the incredible diversity and talent of the arts community throughout Santa Cruz County. The class then competed in a scavenger hunt discovering the many forms of public art in Downtown Santa Cruz. Upon meeting at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Class 31 learned some of the struggles of being an artists in the county and saw a performance by the Shakti Bhakti Ensemble. The day ended with a chance to meet the Santa Cruz City Mayor and tour of the Tannery Arts Center. #LeadershipSCC
