Health & Human Services Day

This past Friday, Leadership Santa Cruz County Class 32 had a chance to delve into some of the issues related to the community’s delivery of health and human services. The day began with a chance to hear from the President of Dignity Health Dominican Hospital, Dr. Mickiewicz, and the CEO of Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center Santa Cruz, Dr. deGhetaldi. This was followed with a behind-the-scenes tour of Dominican with a highlight being the chance to meet the crew from Stanford Life Flight. In the afternoon the class had the opportunity to hear from the county’s Human Services Department. The day ended with the class selecting a field trip option among the following choices – Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz, Salud Para La Gente, Pajaro Valley Shelter Services, Community Bridges / Puentes De La Communidad, and Hospice of Santa Cruz County. Each field trip was arranged by one of the class members from these organizations. Thank you to all of our supporters and sponsors. We couldn't do it without you. Thanks again to Dignity Health Dominican Hospital for making this valuable educational opportunity achievable.
