Pajaro Valley Day

For Pajaro Valley Day, Class 31 began the day out at the Pajaro Dunes and learned about many of the special places, and events going on in the Pajaro Valley. Shaz Roth, ED for the Pajaro Valley Chamber, started things off with a wonderful overview of the valley. Rose Ann Woolpert followed this illustrating how the values of a local business, Granite Rock, reflects and contributes to the quality of life of the community. She touched upon the Algebra Academy and some of the children's books she has published. The class then had an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the new City Manager, Charles Montoya. A Santa Cruz METRO Transit District bus then transported the class to the Watsonville Municipal Airport for a tour, lunch at Ella's at the Airport, and a historical perspective of the valley by Chuck Allen. The day ended with a tour of the Watsonville Wetlands Watch and the Water Recycling Center.
