Criminal Justice Day

Leadership Santa Cruz County Class 32 Criminal Justice Day began Friday morning at the Santa Cruz Police Department with presentations by Undersheriff Jeremy Verinsky, SCPD Chief Vogel, and the GM for the Santa Cruz Regional 9-1-1, Dennis Kidd. Then off to the County Jail for a profound and sobering experience as we toured the jail. At the Roundtree Correctional Facility the class learned about the concerted effort being made to rehabilitate inmates who are housed here and of the future plans for this facility. The day ended with a tour of the Watsonville Court House, a welcome by Judge Almquist, and presentations by the Chief Deputy DA, Rob Wade, Public Defender Larry Biggam, and Probation Chief Fernando Geraldo, rounding out an exceptional day of learning about the great things going on in the criminal justice system throughout the county. Special thanks to First Alarm and President David Hood, SCPD, And Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
