Pajaro Valley Day

The weather cooperated as Class 33 toured the Pajaro Valley; it was a beautiful day in many respects. The day started at the Pajaro Dunes which was a venue that many in the class had never seen before. Shaz Roth, both the CEO for the Pajaro Valley Chamber and LSCC Board member, provided a broad overview of the many attributes of the Pajaro Valley. This was followed by a presentation by Shanna Crigger on Graniterock as an example of a very successful business in this part of the county. City Manager, Charles Montoya and Assistant City Manager, Matt Huffacker shared their vision for the City of Watsonville. And finally, Brian Lockwood talked about the challenges and opportunities faced by the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency. Then onto the METRO bus for a tour of the Watsonville Municipal Airport, lunch at the Agricultural Museum, a tour of the Watsonville Wetlands, and ending at the Water Resources Center adjacent to the Pajaro River. Class 33 discovered and enjoyed a great deal about the Pajaro Valley.
