Housing & Economics Day

Class 35's Housing and Local Economy Day featured speakers Supervisor Ryan Coonerty, the county's Economic Development Coordinator Barbara Mason, and Fred Keeley. A panel titled "A Tale of Three Cities" with the community development directors of Capitola, Santa Cruz, and Scotts Valley highlighted current projects and development challenges. Two of the panelists - Taylor Bateman and Lee Butler happen to be current members of the class!

Matthew Thompson of Thacher & Thompson Architects facilitated a #charrette - a planning session where citizens, designers, and other stakeholders collaborate on a vision for #sustainabledevelopment.

Thank you to Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors for sponsoring the day and a delicious lunch. Swenson Builders sponsored breakfast.
