Class 38 Education Day: Learning in Changing Environments

Writer: leadershipsantacruzleadershipsantacruz

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Nelson Mandela

Leadership Santa Cruz County explored the state of education from transitional kindergarten to UC Santa Cruz's graduate research on Friday. We discussed Covid learning loss, student mental health, AI, funding formulas and more. Even better, we talked with middle and high schoolers about what it is like to live and learn in this community.

Thanks to Graniterock, Dr. Faris Sabbah, Les Forster and the County Office of Education, New Brighton Middle School, Live Oak Elementary, Scotts Valley High School, the HOPE Squad, Chancellor Cindy Larive, Cabrillo President Matt Wetstein, Santa Cruz METRO, and K-12 Regional Collaborative.
